Our team will begin by removing all trash and debris from your home’s crawlspace. This includes plastic, lumber, masonry, and any other debris. This provides a clean and level soil surface for the vapor barrier to be applied.
In some cases, the humidity and moisture present in the crawlspace may have already allowed dangerous mold to thrive and grow. We use a safe, effective, and environmentally-responsible 2-step liquid chemical solution to permanently kill and eradicate any mold growing on floor joists, main girders, and subflooring.
Since any humidity and moisture that enters an encapsulated crawlspace will be removed via a permanently installed dehumidifier, it’s important to permanently seal all existing crawlspace vents. This drastically reduces the amount of new moisture and humidity that can enter the newly encapsulated space.
GCF uses an industry-best fiber-reinforced flexible membrane, which is made in the USA, and does not off-gas. We wrap the columns and walls with our vapor barrier material before installing over the ground. Finally, we tape all seams using ultra-tough waterproof vapor tape, resulting in a complete air-, water-, and the vapor-proof barrier between your crawlspace and outside.
The last step in the encapsulation project is installing commercial-grade dehumidifiers, condensate pumps, and water discharge lines. We also bring in a licensed electrician to install any required electrical outlets to power the pumps and dehumidifiers. We’ll then show you all of your system’s components and answer any questions you have.
We have been cleaning areas for over ten years, successful in various projects.
